About

Hi, I’m Lexy – just a girl living the “normal” life much like yourself. I work the typical 40 hour work week in and out of the engineering office, but with a goal to find an adventure and the beauty in each day and to get out and see the world, meet its people, and grow in it!

Growing up in the USA, I didn’t get to travel much. Most of my time was put into attending endless hours of dance classes and studying until the sun came up. You see, I have an interesting background.  I started out in a short career as a professional ballerina, aspiring to be a full time dancer with the New York City Ballet. Then, one day I decided to go to University to study engineering. Bottom line of the story – I like to change it up and grab onto new experiences!

So the next step to match that impulsive personality, came after graduating from 4 years of university study. All of the graduates were all on the job hunt for our first full time position after graduation. I ended up taking a chance and applying for a position in New Zealand. To make a long story short, they called me up for an interview. Half an hour after the interview ended I got a callback telling me the job is mine and within a week made the decision to move to New Zealand.

Now this is where the story continues… There are a lot of blogs out there with success stories of quitting your job and setting off to travel full time (which are amazing and inspiring), but this is my take on me finding the time to fit travel and adventure in the busy curveballs of our lives. Life’s an adventure – take it full force!
